2 football teams with storied rivalries and unforgetful matches will renew their place atop of their league’s championship game on December 2. Saturday’s game brings back good memories of the former Big 8 where both teams dominated. Oddly enough, this is the first time they will meet in the Big 12’s Championship. OU has played here 4 out of the last 5 years.
Usually the match sent the victor to the national championship but not this time. The winner will get a BCS bowl bid, more than likely at the Fiesta Bowl.
In 2000, #3 OU upset #1 Nebraska and went on to win the national title. The following year, #2 NU came back with a win over #3 OU.
It may not be have the 1971″Game of the Century” status, but to each program, it is a chance to renew some of the passion that has been missing in the Big 12 for years.
