Bob Stoops To the Alabama Crimson Tide? HAHAHAAHA

I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am now residing in Birmingham, Alabama. Both states are crazy for their respective university football teams. TRUST ME. Being an OU fan almost all of my life and married to an OU alumni, I remember the glory days of OU football, Barry Switzer. I also remember the NCAA violations caused by Switzer that hurt the Sooners for almost a decade as far as wins, coach rotations. The hiring of Bob Stoops in 1999 has led OU back to national glory and redeemed the program. With his accomplishments, awards at such a young age, is he already one of the greatest coaches the college football world has seen?

“Well, basically he is THE coach of the decade. His record is now an amazing 86-18. He’s won the Big 12 championship four times and is in only his eighth year at Oklahoma. The four Big 12 championships he has won at OU are the most of any team. He won the 2000 National Championship and received all the “Coach of the Year” awards that year.”

OU defeated Nebraska 21-7 at the Big 12 Championship on Saturday and will go on to play Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl.

The Crimson Tide here in Alabama has a football program similar to OU’s. Same colors, same rich tradition of national championships, legendary coaches (Wilkinson, Switzer, Stoops for OU and Bear Bryant for the Tide) and recent NCAA violations that crippled the programs. The Tide are looking for yet another head coach after firing Mike Shula recently. They are not having luck. It seems that their top 3 choices have all said um, no.

You should hear all of the scuttlebutt here in the office, read the papers on al.com, hear the talk radio about coaching speculations. But John Howard’s theory is Bob Stoops. His website, HIRE BOB STOOPS! ROLL TIDE! It is a very well thought out theory, and has some wild proof. I think John is la-la land, the same place were faithful Tide fans are that the “Bear” is still alive and that the Crimson Tide is the best college sports program anywhere, ever. Read it and let me know what you think!
