Museum

Over the years I’ve archived, recorded, copied and created lots of things that may be of some interest to the reader, some of which can be found here, in the museum. ‘Museum’ could be considered, by some, to be a lofty term for a decidedly motley collection of things to look at and listen to – however, anyone who knows museums, knows they’re all about lofty terms for motley things. Once I have gone through the archives, I will then curate and display items of interest here. Curated selections belong here where they would be inappropriate on other sections of this website. Enjoy.

Audio:

ICQ’s “Uh-Oh” sound effect was a nostalgic notification sound that played when users received messages on the platform, which was one of the first major instant messaging apps. The service officially shut down on June 26, 2024, marking the end of an era for many users.

Visual:

Texture files, originally used in Photoshop, but are compatible with any image software, are used to add depth, visual interest, and unique effects to images or designs by layering them with blending modes and adjusting opacity. They can create vintage, grungy, or other aesthetic effects, enhancing photos, graphics, and web designs. Here are two of my own with more to come:

Psycho Bunny is an over-priced clothing store. Trading a Polo logo for the image of a skull and crossbones rabbit instead, well.. I’ve been fancying rabbits lately so why not?

iPod Classic 5.5

The 30 GB black version of the iPod 5th Generation Enhanced, also known as the iPod classic 5.5. This model was introduced on September 12, 2006, and features a 2.5-inch color display and was the last model to have the click wheel. Introduced in 2006, this is year older than my daughter.
