3/3 Groundhog Resolutions Review

It’s time for the first check-in of 2016 but this will be a short review as I’m writing this from a Dallas hotel room and work is piling up.

I began the resolutions on February 2nd (2/2) and then every month on the corresponding day such as March 3rd (3/3), April 4th (4/4), etc. I’ll review the month.

Spiritual– Using the fantastic Bible app called YouVersion I’ve setup some reading plans to renew my spirit. I’ve even prayed a few times. Progress? Only God can judge. I still want to get out and find a church home. Excuses, I have a few.

Financial– Bad time of year what with tax prep and all. Looking at the Mint budgeting software to help budget and plan. Switched banks to find less fees, more interest. Recent trip to Vegas killed a lot of expendable income…that there wasn’t a lot of expendable income is another story.

Physical– Being on the road destroyed all hope of proper eating as well as training. I was good for the first half of the month. Saw a personal trainer at the gym a few times. Exercised a few more. I even signed up for the Mighty Mud Dash for April. I’m ready to kick my own ass when I get back home.

Mental– Lets just skip this one.

Social– Nothing to see here.

Leftovers from Years Gone By–

Digital Asset Management (DAM). This is a multi-year challenge to organize my decades worth of film and digital photos from multiple devices, multi-backups. Why is this so hard? Organize, archive, back-up and present it on a photo server for easy access. Nope.

Software- First up is DAM, second is Linux administration and even get certified. Boost my MS Office skills for work. Uh-Uh

Travel- I hit my 2015 goals and I’m ready for more this year. Las Vegas coming up in a few weeks but my priority is Marfa, Big Bend and Carlsbad Caverns National Parks out in west Texas and NM. Viva Las Vegas! Up next, NOLA

Conclusion

I’ll check in and review on April 4 with some better news and progress!
