Instead of the traditional new year resolutions, I have opted to do something unique this year and start on February 2. GHD resolutions was created by David Seah and is a breath of fresh air. The supposition is simple: the end of the year festivities leave us physically and mentally exhausted. Who is in their right mind to make and maintain a promise to themselves at this point? Hardly anyone, which is why we fail.
Preparing and planning in January the changes we want to make allows us to really focus on what we want to accomplish. Realistic goals are made and expectations are met.
For me the usual goals apply. Eat better, workout. Save more than I spend. Devote myself closer to God and family. So on and so on. I know what I want to do but not exactly how I need to do it in order to succeed. According to David, he checks in with himself and his community (accountability) every month.
- 1/1 Relax, enjoy yourself
- 2/2 Its go time
- 3/3 So far so good, right?
- 4/4 Right?
I’ll be ready to go by February 1st and update my resolutions as well as how I plan to follow through with them.
