I've discovered that I would make an excellent old curmudgeon as I get older. I have just a few more ramblings to unload on you.
- Smoker/drivers: use your car's ashtray and quit littering the streets
- When you are parked, please don't empty your old drinks right where other people step out of their car into it.
- Why do female athletic teams have to be called the "Lady Lions" or the "Lady Bulldogs"? Would they not be considered Lionesses? Still bulldogs? What about the "Lady Crimson Tide"? Why not just the Crimson Tide?
- The best use of a girl's team name, an old orphanage in Illinois has been converted into a high school. The team name? The Orphan Annies. Cuteness.
- The #$%^@ Birmingham Suzuki Man. This guy is making a fortune off of car sales by acting like a moron and embarrassing the city. I can't turn the channel fast enough.
What bugs you?

Daphne,
You have been a member of this world for 6 months and already, you have been a huge blessing in our lives. For the eleven years your mother and I have been married, you were on our minds. Now that you are here with us, you have enhanced our joy. Watching you grow and develop quickly has been a great surprise.

In one half of a year , you have gained 9 pounds, grown six inches and are right on track with your development. You have decided to change your perspective by standing up as often as you can. When I walk into the room, you turn your head to me and smile as wide as you can. Your curiosity of objects surrounding you increases and I hope this never stops.
Your mother continues to amaze and inspire me and I am grateful that she does not have to work so she can stay at home and teach you how to be a girl. As I watch her with you, I love her even more.
You are my daughter and I love you,
Daddy.

the face of discomfort in the doc's office
Our little bundle of joy was not feeling so joyous yesterday. She's had a fever off/on for the past 2 days around 99. When I got home from work, she was burning up, her hands/feet were cold and bluish. We visited a pediatrician (after hours) who diagnosed a virus. No flu.
When we got home she was nursed and laid down for a long nap. After waking up she was cool and clammy and in a great mood. Shortly after, she was smiling again, jumping on daddy and pulling the hairs on the dog's snout.
That is one tough little girl to look a virus down and just say "whatever, man"!

When I was growing up, I rocked on the arcade game called Spy Hunter. In this game, the object is to just keep driving and avoid the Bond-like cars, helicopters and boats. A new Pontiac commercial pays homage as seen here. Cool! Now I wonder if they have this game for the Wii...

When corporate headquarters reminded it's employees that no personal music/photos/videos were allowed on company laptops, a collective "Oh crap" was heard throughout. After filling up my 8GB flash drive, I still had at least 10 GB more to remove.
Then I remembered ADrive. This is a web-based storage and back-up application that hosts up to 50GB. Free.
Problem solved and my work laptop thanks me for it. Wow.

Wasted Weekend
2008-03-16 15:38:59
No, I didn't get wasted, although at times I sure would have liked it. It started Thursday night when I could not go to sleep. Daphne was sick and fussy. On Friday night I had every intention of going to a party and a sci-fi convention (to photograph the freaks & geeks). Forget it. I was too exhausted. I was so exhausted in fact that I could not sleep until 7:30 AM. I was up twittering with some friends overnight about our severe storms here and Atlanta's tornado after that.
Any and all plans to clean/organize were lost as well. Who had the energy?
Saturday night and again, no sleep.
I
was going to mow but the riding mower could not start. I attempted the push mower with the same result. Screw it, I'll just surf the interwebs.
Tonight, the 3rd and final event for the weekend is the George Thorogood concert at the Alabama Theatre and I am not missing that. I have backstage pass to photograph and I am not going to miss out.
Photos later his week as I need to recover and go back to work. Short work week though because I am flying to Tulsa for my little brother's wedding. W00t!

A big thank you to Jenna at Mike Donahue Management and most especially to the lovely Angela at Live Nation for escorting me around the theatre!

Introducing My Space
2008-03-30 09:14:04
I've created and authored a lot of web sites/blogs and a friend of mine suggested that with all of theses sites inside of what I call Studio Mojo, I do not have a web presence that I can truly call my own. So, without delay, I am introducing MojoDenbow.info.
Originally, I had a personal website that was basic, free and hosted by Wordpress.com. There were page templates, limited storage and not as customizable as I would have liked. Since then, I decided to create various websites on our own server, with their own domain names as opposed to mojodenbow.wordpress.com to mojodenbow.info. Why .info? It rhymes with my name. Duh!
To get the latest updates the Mojo has to offer, please add this site to your RSS reader. The address is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/MojoDenbow and if you want the updates delivered to your email inbox instead, be sure to sign up here:
For the other sites in Studio Mojo such as photography, hiking, technology, video blogging and more, the links are provided on the left sidebar of the page.

Flickr: Discussing April Fools Magic City Photo Walk in Magic City
Yes, it is true, we ARE having another photowalk in the Birmingham area this Tuesday night. We'll meet at 5:30PM in the Speakeasy downtown Birmingham. After a few drinks to um, enhance our shooting skills, we'll hit the pavement and capture anything that strikes our fancy.
The Rules:
Who is invited: Anyone who wants to come.
Who is not invited: mean people.
Required equipment: a camera of any type.
Suggested equipment: tripod (for after it gets dark).
Required Photographic Skill Level: Any. The purpose of this event is to just have fun, meet some people, share tips and tricks, and just enjoy photography together.
So that's it, come on and join us April 1st!
